Systems we designed, engineered and stand behind.

Manko Labs is the engineering core of the Group Manko ecosystem. Several of the platforms below are the group’s own ventures, which means we live with the consequences of our architecture decisions rather than handing them over and leaving.

How we handle proof

We do not publish performance figures we have not measured, and we do not publish client results without the client’s approval. Where a metric belongs, this site carries a marked placeholder until there is a verified number to put in it. Detailed case material, including commercial outcomes, is available under NDA in a qualified conversation.

The Portfolio

Six systems, described exactly as they stand.

Filter by sector, or read them in full. Each entry states what we built, the engineering decisions that mattered, and which measures are still to be published.

Mobility · Logistics · Commerce Operating

A multi-vertical commerce and delivery platform

Built for a market where most commerce runs through messaging apps, most payment is mobile money or cash on delivery, and most riders are on mid-range Android phones with metered data.

What we built. Buyer and seller applications, rider dispatch and live tracking, an operations console for the dispatch team, and administrative tooling for onboarding, pricing and disputes — across several commercial verticals on one platform.

Engineering decisions that mattered.

  • One operational record behind every channel, so orders, stock and settlements reconcile.
  • Offline-tolerant rider application with queued capture and sync on reconnection.
  • Payment flows designed around mobile money and cash on delivery rather than saved cards.
  • Role-scoped consoles: sellers see their own store, dispatch sees the network, administrators see the platform.
  • RoleProduct design, architecture, engineering, operation
  • SurfacesWeb platform, seller tools, rider application, ops console
  • StatusOperating as a Group Manko venture
  • SectorCommerce, logistics, delivery

Metrics pending

To be published here: transaction volumes, delivery cycle times, seller onboarding rate and rider utilisation, once the venture releases operating figures.

Connected Safety Operating

A restricted real-time safety operations console

Safety operations fail on latency and on access control: the right person must see the right incident immediately, and no one else should see it at all.

What we built. A live command console for safety operations — incident visibility, response coordination, and strict role-based access designed around who is permitted to see which category of information.

Engineering decisions that mattered.

  • Access control designed first, as the core constraint rather than a configuration step.
  • Real-time operational view built for continuous use in a control-room setting.
  • Audit trails on sensitive records, so every access is attributable.
  • Designed to degrade safely when connectivity is unreliable.
  • RoleProduct design, architecture, engineering
  • SurfacesRestricted operations console
  • StatusOperating as a Group Manko venture
  • SectorSafety, security operations

Metrics pending

To be published here: response-time measures and operational adoption, once released by the venture.

Workforce · Compliance Operating

Workforce and credential-compliance system

In licensed and regulated service businesses, an expired credential is not an administrative annoyance — it can invalidate a contract, a claim or an insurance position.

What we built. A workforce platform tracking certifications and credential expiry across staff and sites, with scheduling, records and automated notification before a credential lapses.

Engineering decisions that mattered.

  • Expiry monitoring and escalation modelled as first-class workflow, not a report someone must remember to run.
  • Additive data design so the system could be introduced alongside an existing operational database without disruption.
  • Automated notification to the people accountable, on a defined schedule.
  • Role-based visibility separating personal records from operational scheduling.
  • RoleProduct design, architecture, engineering
  • SurfacesWeb platform, administrative console, notifications
  • StatusOperating
  • SectorWorkforce services, compliance-driven operations

Metrics pending

To be published here: credential-lapse incidents before and after deployment, and administrative hours recovered.

Hospitality In build

A hospitality operations platform

Hotels and restaurant groups typically run rooms, point of sale, stock, maintenance and finance on separate systems that never reconcile, which is why the daily position is always a day late.

What we built. An integrated operations platform covering property and booking operations, point of sale, inventory, service tickets and finance, with guest-facing entry points for booking, in-room service and table ordering.

Engineering decisions that mattered.

  • A single operational record across departments, so the daily position is available without assembly.
  • Guest-facing surfaces built as thin front doors onto the same record, not as separate systems.
  • Designed for properties where connectivity and staff turnover are both realities.
  • Structured so a property can adopt one module first and extend later.
  • RoleProduct design, architecture, engineering
  • SurfacesStaff platform, guest booking and ordering, management reporting

Trade · Applied AI Operating

A global sourcing and supplier-intelligence platform

Importers and brands lose money in the gap between finding a supplier and landing goods: unverified counterparties, quotes that are not comparable, and duty and compliance discovered at the port.

What we built. A sourcing platform covering the full pipeline — supplier discovery across markets, structured verification, quote comparison on landed cost rather than headline price, sampling, purchase orders and destination-market compliance guidance.

Engineering decisions that mattered.

  • Applied AI used for structured analysis with checkable output — scoring, extraction, comparison — rather than open-ended generation.
  • Landed-cost modelling so a cheaper quote is not mistaken for a cheaper outcome.
  • Verification treated as a checklist with explicit pass, fail and unknown states.
  • Compliance guidance scoped to the destination market being imported into.
  • RoleProduct design, architecture, engineering
  • SurfacesWeb platform, supplier dossiers, quote and order management
  • StatusOperating

Industrial · Governance Operating

A joint-venture project-control system

An industrial joint venture replaced a manual project workbook with a governed operating system, where the hard requirement was that partners, advisors and specialists each see only what their role and their matter permit.

What we built. A project-control platform with registers across the project lifecycle, document version control, stage-gate sequencing, structured quality results and deviation handling, meeting records that spawn accountable actions, and matter-scoped access control.

Engineering decisions that mattered.

  • Need-to-know access enforced at the database layer, not only in the interface.
  • Commercially sensitive intellectual property excluded from AI context by construction rather than by permission check.
  • Readiness computed from real project evidence rather than self-reported status.
  • A test suite covering the access-control rules, because that is where the risk concentrates.
  • RoleProduct design, architecture, engineering, security
  • SurfacesWeb platform, registers, reporting, project assistant
  • StatusOperating in production
  • SectorIndustrial joint ventures, capital projects

Client Engagements

Client work is described in the conversation, not on the website.

Much of what we build is commercially sensitive: pricing engines, operating models, access rules, deal pipelines. Where a client has approved publication, the case study appears here in full. Where they have not, we discuss the relevant work under NDA with buyers who are seriously evaluating an engagement.
